I bought several components for my new PC recently. MSI RTX 2070 Super (from an old build), i9-12900KS Corsair H100i CPU cooler (2x16 GB), 32 GB DDR5 Corsair Vengeance RAM at 5200 MHz, Z690-E Gaming WiFi Corsair RM1000X 2TB, 970 Evo NVMe SSD. I connected everything last night but it didn’t boot. MOBO showed a white LED and Q-code "7F" (reserved for future AMI DXE codes). This morning I tried again—still nothing. I cleared the CMOS, but after powering on it started acting oddly. The fan lights came on but some flickered from bright to dim. The Q-code is "00" (not listed in the manual) and the red CPU LED was flashing, yet the system still wouldn’t boot. Since then I reset the AIO cooler, changed memory sticks, tried different slots, checked for CPU pin damage, started the PC with the GPU connected and then disconnected it. So far, nothing works and I’m stuck in this strange state where it doesn’t boot and some lights just flash.

The white LED is typically one of the four, such as CPU, RAM, VGA, or BOOT.

The VGA LED turned white but is now inactive because the CPU's flashing red light is affecting it.

Rut-row, Raggy. I’d check the PSU first—it might be a PSU problem. Faulty or weak capacitors can lead to startup problems because there isn’t enough current during the start-up phase.

Tried a different power supply I already owned—a Corsair RM750x. The same issue occurs every time I start up.

My power switch, reset switch, and power indicator are all linked together.

But the connection seems off. I tried to verify everything carefully. My motor skills can sometimes be tricky, especially with autism-related challenges, so it’s easy to misplace my hands or do things differently than intended.

This was a valid concern to raise. I verified them multiple times, yet it didn't resolve the issue.

So for my Corsair enthusiasts who were directly connected to my power source, everything worked fine without any problems. The fan linked straight to the motherboard but had issues with its LEDs and those on the board itself. It looks like the motherboard might be dead, though I’m not sure yet.
