Ensuring a BIOS update is available should be a positive step when you're ready to proceed with the installation.

I faced this problem recently with my dark hero 8 x570 refurb. My setup didn’t support the 5950 model like it did for my crosshair 8 (WiFi). So, grab a thumb drive, format it using FAT, and confirm it’s indeed FAT. If needed, create a partition of 1GB or 2GB—preferably 4GB is safe unless you have more. Place the BIOS file at the root of the drive (Z:\file.bin), but keep in mind it might differ from what the site suggests. Inside that folder, there’s a DOS file that renames everything to something like "whateveryouneed.xyz". Visit the manufacturer’s site after extracting the files, power up the PSU, and insert the USB into the designated port with the white square. Press and hold the left button (it looks blue), wait for it to stay lit—follow the on-screen steps. The CPU installation is optional, but this board handles it well without fan issues. It should take about 5-10 minutes. After completion, display a BIOS output if possible. Hopefully you have a GPU ready, or at least it will work. Just remember to read the manual carefully; the light behavior matters. This setup can be tricky, but it’s manageable. Earlier I made a similar error and wasted two weeks—make sure your fan is connected properly if your CPU reads from it. Good luck!

The underlined part is likely highlighting important details in the BIOS. It seems you're trying to confirm the storage format—look for "fat" instead of "fat32" or "ntfs." Checking "computer management" can help interpret those settings. Your ROG model matches the TUF-GAMING B550 PLUS, and the format should be FAT for optimal performance.

the 8 pin for the CPU has to be the CPU from the PSU. it cannot be a PCI-E connector. the PCI-E ones are separate, while the CPU ones connect directly—especially on that board. verify it is plugged into the CPU section of the PSU, not just the PCI-E side.

do you think you're unsure about which cables are required for a minimal boot setup? The 24-pin connector should fit your motherboard, located on the top left side of the board. All CPU connectors must be connected to the PSU, using the same cables in one direction without splits. A CPU fan header is essential too. Of course, the GPU is a must. If you're using an APU, it doesn't matter which side you plug it into—just test either. You really don’t need much for the motherboard itself. USB and extra components aren’t necessary. I hope it works now; I was away from this machine for months until I invested time and effort. It was worth it.

I've tested both of these pins yet it's still not working.
