Problem with starting the computer.
When I attempt to start my computer, it spins the dot circle and then freezes. After rebooting, it goes into automatic repair, but that doesn’t work. What options do I have to fix this while keeping my data safe?
You can choose to check for issues during installation and attempt corrections without removing any files.
I've completed this task already. Nothing appears to be incorrect.
I would attempt to utilize the drive in a different system as suggested by @kelvinhall05, although I’d hold responsibility for the issue.
It seems the system is repeatedly freezing at the same points. I've cleared the CMOS, removed all memory except one stick, and used the command prompt to check for errors. Prior to this, I encountered a BSOD warning about drivers exceeding limits.
It seems the drive is likely malfunctioning or failing. If it contains crucial data, forward it to a professional for recovery. Otherwise, discard it.
Started in safe mode and everything functions properly. Likely the latest NVIDIA updates or audio drivers are responsible. The device is a Samsung 850 Evo with a fully functional SMART report.
It will only start in safe mode; otherwise it keeps spinning indefinitely.
