Hello, I’m dealing with a strange problem on my Windows 10 custom PC. When I power it on via the power button, it reports no boot device is found. However, once I enter BIOS and exit without making changes, it boots normally into Windows without any problems. This issue occurred randomly a few months ago, and I’ve just moved the machine into a new case while making sure all connections are secure. I’m trying to figure out if anyone has encountered similar situations. Hardware details: AMD Ryzen 9 7950x, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070, 64 GB DDR5 RAM, Asus B650E board, Samsung SSD 850 EVO 1TB (boot drive), Samsung SSD 980 PRO 2TB with Seagate 12TB hard drive. I’m using Windows 10 Education and have recently updated everything and all drivers.
Is the system launching to Windows in the updated version? If not, remove all other devices except the boot drive and check if it immediately reaches the Desktop. Then, connect the monitor to the iGPU found on the 7950x and verify whether it also directs straight to the Desktop.
UEFI functions similarly to BIOS. It will revert all configurations back to their original factory values. I doubted that adjusting the boot settings could prevent your system from detecting the boot media during startup, only showing it in UEFI after you accessed it.
I finally managed to complete this task. Initially, I selected the incorrect motherboard—my ASRock B650E PG RIPTIDE WIFI. After attempting a reset to the default BIOS, the PC wouldn’t boot beyond that stage. I reattached all SATA, power connections, and my M.2 drive. I cleared the CMOS, and now with CMS enabled, I can load past the BIOS but encounter a black screen with a static white underscore in the corner. I’m unsure what to do next; any suggestions would be greatly helpful.
