Problem with starting GTA V on launch.
Problem with starting GTA V on launch.
I want to play GTA. I begin with GTA V. The Rockstar social club launcher appears and closes after roughly five seconds, displaying the standard warning about it stopping. This happened during a fresh installation that never worked before because of this problem from the start. I used it a few months ago but removed it because my disk was running low on space. Now I downloaded the DVD using the Amazon downloader I got after buying the digital version. I tried removing it and reinstalling from the files, then reinstalled the update for the GTA V launcher from Rockstar’s website. That didn’t fix anything. I’m stuck and unsure which step to take next. Should I try redownloading everything again? No...
Don't fret about Rockstar Social Club crashing on you—it's intentional. /sarcasm off Rockstar, in their wisdom, seems to like keeping those who paid for the game unable to play it, aiming to stop piracy. Unfortunately, this impacts more legitimate owners than it stops the pirates, which explains your annoyance. You might try re-downloading the whole game again; the Amazon Downloader can help spot missing files and re-upload via Steam. Consider reaching out to Rockstar Support or calling their technical help line for assistance. https://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-.../205778987
It's strange since the launcher on Rockstar's site says you need to remove Rockstar Social Club to install. Rockstar Social Club claims all their programs must be uninstalled together with the club. When I did that, the Rockstar launcher stopped working and wouldn't launch the installer. What's going on?
