Problem with starting Asus ROG STRIX X99.
Problem with starting Asus ROG STRIX X99.
Hey everyone, after turning on my machine and seeing it refuse to boot, I checked for the B1 error on the motherboard. Later research suggested the problem might relate to my RAM. I removed all four RAM modules and tried one at a time, but the error persisted. When I powered it up without any RAM installed, the same code appeared. Since I have four sticks, it seems unlikely all failed simultaneously. I also tried updating the BIOS using a USB drive, but that didn’t help. I’m not sure what else to try and wonder if the motherboard itself might be faulty. Anyone else experienced this issue or has a solution? Thanks in advance!
Was die Maschine bewegt worden? Wie bereits erwähnt, können Sie versuchen, den CPU neu einzusetzen. Eine andere Stromversorgung und das Zurücksetzen der CMOS sind ebenfalls Optionen.
Runtime Set Virtual Address MAP will terminate after pulling two sticks, operating in A2 and B2 slots for testing. Complete CMOS reset prior to proceeding. Specifications for others are listed below. System components include an Intel i7 6800K CPU, Asus STRIX x99 motherboard, Corsair 32GB RAM (4x8GB), Asus ROG STRIX GTX1070 GPU, Corsair Obsidian 750D airflow case, Corsair HX1000i display (2x 27", 1x 40"), and a 4K keyboard from Logitech. Mouse: Logitech G19, Mouse: Logitech G502, Sound: Logitech Z5500, Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit.
Unable to proceed right now because I don't have any thermal paste at home. The machine hasn't been moved or disturbed, it stayed in its original position. CMOS cleared already but no improvement. Different PSU isn't working since I don't have alternatives. Tried running the devices in A2 and B2, got error code 53. After moving them to A1 and B1, the B1 code appeared again. Sorry for not noting the specifications earlier. Updated November 25, 2020 by R3play
Code 53 indicates a memory initialization issue. Please attempt one stick at a time—start with slot A1 and verify each stick. Quickly review the manual for single-stick procedures to confirm.
Consider switching to another CPU if needed. If not, inspect the 6800K for any damaged pads while it's removed.
I ordered two additional RAM modules that are listed as compatible, but the problem persists. I plan to apply thermal paste and re-seat the CPU as a final step (also inspecting for any damaged pads). If everything checks out and the issue remains, I’ll consider returning the motherboard and CPU to Asus for repair. If that doesn’t resolve it, I’ll need a new board and processor.
