Hi there, your setup sounds like it's working well overall. The issue with audio on the 3.5 port might be related to driver compatibility or configuration. Have you checked if the speakers are properly connected and powered? Also, try using a different USB device to see if the problem persists. If the issue continues, updating the audio drivers or consulting Gigabyte's support could help.

If you're absolutely certain the connections are correct, it's likely the built-in audio chip is damaged. You can usually resolve this by using a separate external or PCIe sound card.

Sure, just the motherboard.

Did you test another 3.5mm device to ensure the speakers weren’t the issue? Consider using a reliable pair of headphones.

Thanks. If the sound card fails, you might still hear audio through USB headphones, though performance could be affected.

They include their own audio chips. USB transmits data digitally, but the headphones or speakers require an analog output at some stage. For the 3.5mm jack, the built-in audio handles conversion (using a DAC to translate digital to analog) whereas with USB, the conversion must occur elsewhere between the drivers and the port. This processing is typically handled within the compact in-cable remotes.

Click the speaker icon with the right-click instead of left. The main panel in Win11 is called "Output," similar to Win10. Make sure "Speakers" from your motherboard is chosen. Occasionally HDMI or another output is picked, which can stop sound from reaching the intended source.
