Hi everyone, I completed Witcher 3 a while back. My friend wants to build his first gaming PC but is on a tight budget, so I thought suggesting games like Witcher 3 at around 30 fps would be a good fit. I reinstalled it and capped the frame rate at 30 to demonstrate what he could expect. However, when I set the FPS limit to 30, I notice significant lag. When I move the mouse repeatedly while turning it, the game stays smooth but the visuals freeze for up to two seconds after stopping movement. It only occurs during active movement or exploration, and everything works fine when stationary. Any suggestions on what might be causing this issue? (I’ve already enabled the hardware cursor.) Thanks!

This setting controls low frame rates, but ensure V-Sync is turned off. Also, how did you previously restrict the frame rate?

It seems the performance drops noticeably when you stay still, but it works fine when you move things around. The low frame rate and frame times shouldn’t be causing issues, since they’re consistent during movement.

The GOG overlay was the one making things work differently in a special way.

Many overlays are disabled whenever possible since it's an option.
