Build
MSI B650M Gaming Plus WiFi AM5 (MOTHERBOARD)
Kingston Fury Beast DDR5 @ 6000MHz 32GB (RAM KF560C36BWEAK2)
Ryzen 7 7800X3D (CPU)
No graphics card. Integrated only

Issue
My setup with all these parts arranged as a testbench on my desk is functioning properly. Everything fits, is powered, and responds correctly from the BIOS. Once I start Windows, everything operates smoothly until I install the AMD drivers—whether from the official site or MSI Centre. After rebooting, I encounter inconsistent graphical issues each time, regardless of the variation.

I tried reinstalling on Windows 10 and 11, but the outcomes differed. On Windows 10, after installing drivers, the login screen would freeze, flicker, and become unresponsive; it took about ten seconds for the prompt to appear after pressing the space bar. Typing the password was difficult because I couldn’t see anything. When I rebooted, the Driver Utility displayed an incompatibility warning and reported ongoing instability.

I’ve emphasized that the system is not just problematic for certain tasks but is generally unusable.

Troubleshooting steps
Someone suggested that setting the motherboard and RAM to EXPO mode might be the root cause, possibly due to memory not being reserved for graphics. I reset my BIOS and then disabled EXPO and XMP.

I upgraded my BIOS to the latest version from the factory.

I reinstalled Windows 10 and 11 three times each, using different installation media to ensure no corruption occurred.

I experimented with SSDs (NVMe and SATA) and both HDDs.

I also tried older versions of the drivers provided by MSI and from the AMD official page.

None of these solutions worked. I’m still uncertain whether adding a graphics card would resolve this problem.

What type of drivers are you looking for: chipset, graphics, or another AMD-supported category?

Ensure you are using drivers for the CPU only, not dedicated GPUs. Start booting into safe mode and use DDU to eliminate any existing drivers. Confirm you have a stable internet connection, and when you restart Windows, it should automatically load the minimum necessary drivers that you can later upgrade. Additionally, verify that your BIOS is up to date and that chipset drivers are installed.

The power supply is a Corsair RM750e. All components are brand new.

Yes. I've attempted to install the Chipset Drivers, but it interrupts the graphics functionality. I'm attempting to get the necessary drivers for my CPU to function properly. I'm considering purchasing an RTX 4080 Super. However, I still need some kind of CPU drivers. I've tried downloading them from the MSI download tool that installs automatically from the BIOS. I also checked the official AMD website:
https://www.amd.com/en/support/down...en...00x3d.html
All the available downloads have caused my PC to stop working. The screen becomes black, flickers, or runs slowly.

The BIOS should offer a setting to modify the memory allocated to IGPU, typically set at 512MB by default. Increasing it to 2GB is preferable, as it utilizes separate main RAM. Higher performance RAM also helps. Check for IGPU OC options in both BIOS and Adrenalin drivers. IGPU is quite basic but sufficient for basic 2D tasks; don't overestimate its capabilities.

But why does this problem happen once you install the chipset drivers? The display functions properly without the GPU until the drivers are added.
