Problem with showing after installing RX 6800 XT
Hi everyone,
I recently upgraded my GPU from an RTX 3060 to an RX 6800 XT, which I purchased second-hand from Facebook Marketplace. At first, everything worked fine after installation. However, when I shut down the computer and turned it back on the next day, the display remained off.
I followed several troubleshooting steps:
Changed the HDMI cable – no improvement.
Repeatedly turned the PC on and off – display appeared eventually.
Swapped out the RAM – problem continued.
Flushed out the electricity (unplugged and held the power button for 15 seconds) – no change.
Checked BIOS settings – only XMP for RAM was enabled.
The issue appears to happen after the PC has been idle for a while. When I power it up after a long break, there’s still no display, even though the PC is running.
Details about the system:
Ryzen 5 5600G
Gigabyte B450M DS3H V2
2x8GB RAM 3200MHz
650W Bronze PSU
RX 6800 XT
Anyone have suggestions on what might be causing this or how to resolve it?
Thanks in advance for your assistance!
Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
650W Bronze PSU is the listed power rating, but it actually boasts an 80+ efficiency. Could you share the model and age of your unit? Even brand new PSUs should ideally provide at least 700W when paired with an RX6800XT.

Are you aware of the current BIOS version on your motherboard?
Have you moved your card to another system with sufficient power from the PSU to ensure it stays operational? Have you considered obtaining a more robust PSU with 750W for your setup?
