Problem with scanner on Brother printer?
I have an older Brother MFC-J200 printer/scanner without a touchscreen. I faced scanning problems that caused white streaks in the images. I swapped the CIS scanning unit with one from another Brother printer, and the part numbers matched. The manual says I should reset the CIS travel settings in maintenance mode after replacement. However, I can only reach the maintenance mode for end users, not service personnel. The machine doesn’t start properly; once it does, it scans normally but then stops at the rest position, grinding the gears and showing "Init Unable AF." I’m trying to fix this without much luck.
