I recently bought a S3420GP server board on eBay for building a home NAS. After connecting everything and turning on the case, nothing happened. Oddly enough, a small green light lights up when the power supply is active and turns off when it’s off. The motherboard also makes a faint popping sound a few times per second. My main concern is that my power supply might have a 4-pin CPU connector while the board uses an 8-pin slot. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

It seems you're suggesting a replacement power supply unit.

Which PSU fits a 4-pin connector? All PSUs come with an 8-pin connector for the CPU. A few have extra 8 pins (2x4) split for the motherboard, needing a 12-pin setup. The S3420GP is an 8-pin model.
