Problem with Ryzen 3600 cooling fan
Hey, I saw you just got a Ryzen 3600. After setup, the fan seems to jump around for a bit before settling. It’s frustrating. The BIOS is up to date (b450m ds3h). Any tips to fix this?
I'm curious about the temperatures and the type of CPU fan you're using. It seems there could be an issue: if your fan can run at very low speeds (often designed to be quiet), it might drop below a setting in your BIOS. Your BIOS could incorrectly assume the fan has failed and switch all fans to maximum speed. This is usually a safety measure with higher RPMs, but it might not be ideal. The fix would likely involve adjusting your fan curve or failure thresholds.
Adjust the manual fan curve in BIOS settings, as the processor heats up rapidly during turbo mode.
temperatures fluctuate widely between 35c and 50c, occasionally reaching up to 60c for a brief moment before dropping back to around 40c. This pattern is visible on HWMonitor, though the fan speed stays between 1880 and 2191 rpm. It doesn’t appear to be a fan issue; instead, it seems the fan only increases speed when the CPU hits 50-60°C without a clear reason. You might be mistaken about it being a fan problem.
