Problem with running Gigabyte GTX 1660 Mini Ti at 4K in PCIe x16 port.
For one reason, I’m unable to post a new message on the Nvidia Community Forum regarding this problem, which would be the most logical starting point. I was hoping someone could provide some guidance.
I’ve been receiving assistance from Nvidia Tech Support, who gave me all the usual recommendations—updating drivers, performing a clean Windows installation, testing older driver versions, inspecting the edge connector and PCIe x16 slot, among others. I’ve also tried installing the card on three different PCs with fresh Windows each time, and using both HDMI and DP ports with various monitors. So far, nothing has resolved the issue, and it seems the card itself might be defective.
Nevertheless, I thought I’d make a final attempt to see if anyone else has encountered similar problems before I give up.
What is the model number of the motherboard? Does it have a connection for the monitor using a displayport or HDMI? To enable HDMI at 4k at 30hz, you need an ultra cable and a HDMI 2.1 compatible source.
I think the card might be defective in some way.
As a temporary solution, once it works correctly, avoid shutting it down except during maintenance.
Use sleep mode to run without hibernation.
The PC and monitor will reach a very low power state almost immediately.
Sleep/wake operations will take only a few seconds.
My PC has been running for 5 days since the last maintenance.
Thank you for the response. I agree about the faulty card, but I don't want to leave the PC running or hibernate as a temporary solution. It would be simpler to insert the card into the x4 slot since it works there. The main concern is trying to resolve the issue further if possible.
