Hi there, I've faced problems with my Ethernet card for about three months. It worked when I first installed it, after a driver update it stopped functioning. I've reset my PC several times but never had success. I'm considering replacing the motherboard if this isn't resolved. I checked the Device Manager and the driver is missing. I tried installing it manually, but got an error 31. The manufacturer's automatic version also reported the driver couldn't be found. If I put the cable in sleep mode, it works. I'm running out of options and would appreciate any advice. My motherboard is a Prime B650-Plus WIFI.

It functioned previously when I first installed it, but after a driver update it stopped working. Could you clarify how you updated the drivers? This will help us understand what steps we should take to potentially reverse the changes.

I have reset my PC several times since then, but it hasn’t resolved the issue. I’m considering replacing the motherboard if this doesn’t work.

Resetting doesn’t seem effective. It might be better to format the drive and reinstall the OS after creating a bootable USB, installing it offline, and then manually adding all required drivers with the latest version—using an elevated command prompt, for example by right-clicking the installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

I’ve also tried installing it manually, but I received an error 31. This usually indicates that the OS is corrupt or the hardware is faulty.

My motherboard is a Prime B650-Plus with Wi-Fi. When sharing details about troubleshooting, it’s helpful to provide full system specifications, such as CPU, cooler, motherboard model, RAM, SSD/HDD, GPU, power supply, chassis, OS version, monitor type, and the age of the PSU along with its BIOS version.

Hello, thank you for your message. I checked the driver on the ASUS support site and used a USB instead of Windows because Windows keeps having problems. My specs are: CPU AMD Ryzen 5 9600x, cooler Deep Cool lt720, motherboard Prime B650-Plus WIFI, 32 GB T-Force 6000mhz RAM, 1TB Fanxiang S500Pro SSD, Asus RTX 4060 GPU, and a Corsair CX750 PSU. Power supply is Corsair CX750 with 3 years. The operating system is Windows 11 and BIOS version 3283.

The current BIOS for this board is version 3283 dated September 19, 2025. If you're not using that version, you should update to it. For AMD systems, staying updated with the AGESA microcode is crucial, as it's included in BIOS updates.
