Problem with Question Game’s First-Person Shooter causing stuttering, performance drops, or freezing issues.
Greetings,
I’m attempting to diagnose the problems I'm experiencing with this game. The issue manifests in other titles, but is significantly more pronounced within Final Fantasy XV. I recently updated some hardware. A detailed list of my components is provided below. The problem appears to be most noticeable when numerous opponents are present and the screen is visually complex. My game settings are configured for maximum quality, a level my system should comfortably support. Both the graphics card and central processing unit maintain low usage levels and temperatures, with GPU utilization averaging approximately 65% and CPU around the same. Memory consumption is typically within the 50% range. I’ve removed all in-game overlay programs through Steam and Nvidia, along with various visual effects like Nvidia hair works. The frame rate is set to 60 frames per second, though it frequently drops to 20 and occasionally dips to zero for brief moments during freezes. I’ve also closed all non-essential applications running in the background, leaving only GPU drivers and Corsair software active. Here are my system specifications:
Motherboard: Asus TUF Sabertooth Z190 Mark 1
CPU: Intel i7-6700K
Memory: 2x8GB
Graphics Card: Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super
Power Supply: Corsair RMx 850i
Storage: Samsung 500GB SSD (game and OS)
Cooling: Corsair H115i CPU AIO
Operating System: Windows 10 64-bit Pro
Do you have any suggestions?
Has this problem occurred previously, prior to any updates being applied?
What modifications were made?
Replaced my graphics card with a GTX 970 STRIX, along with a new computer case and an all-in-one CPU cooler. I was also transitioning from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Initially, the new game didn't work, but I experienced occasional brief freezes during gameplay with several other titles.
Absolutely, experiencing dips like that is astonishing given your current hardware configuration.
If you were encountering issues with stuttering previously, I would have seriously explored alternative solutions than the modifications you’ve recently implemented.
Have you performed a memory diagnostic test to check for potential errors?
Regarding the upgrade to Windows 10, did you install it from scratch or use a method that preserved your existing files and settings?
I wanted to bring this to your attention regarding the AIO cooler in Corsair Link. It appears you’ve double-clicked on the pump and selected “extreme” mode – this might be beneficial. Just a suggestion.
I observed this morning that my initial assessment regarding CPU load was inaccurate. The processor reached 100% capacity, resulting in pauses and interruptions. I executed a performance test for Final Fantasy and achieved an excellent score. However, when the game is launched, CPU usage remains low at 5 percent. I suspect that my central processing unit isn't the root cause of the problem. Despite significantly reducing graphics settings, the CPU continued to climb to 100 percent. Do you have any suggestions?
