Having a problem linking my PS4 controller to my PC. After switching from console to PC, I tried connecting it via wire and it worked fine for playing games. Then the wire became loose, so I used Inputmapper to play both old and new titles. Now I’m considering Bluetooth because it seems better. I bought a dongle that connects to Windows, but my games still don’t recognize the controller unless Inputmapper is running. It feels like pressing Inputmapper slows things down. Anyone have suggestions or needed settings in Inputmapper?

I haven't experienced any issues with PS4 adapters on my PC before.
However, PS5 controllers connect perfectly using Bluetooth.

I've been thinking about purchasing just an Xbox controller, but I'm hesitant because it costs £60. Plus, I've been using Sony controllers for a long time now. I'm more familiar with them.
