I was adding a Hard Drive to my PC, and it was all plugged in, and now it doesn't work. There is an orange light on my Asus b550ma wifi 2, and I've reseated everything and tried to short the pins, but nothing is working. I've taken out the HDD too, but someone please help. It looks like a basic machine with an AMD stock cooler, four RAM sticks, and a Sapphire AMD GPU. I’m confused why it won’t boot now. Did you attempt to reset the CMOS memory? The orange light likely indicates the DRAM status, so try booting with just one RAM stick and test in another slot until it starts. The HDD issue doesn’t seem connected. It might just be a coincidence happening together. Good luck!

It's disappointing. The only thing missing was testing with a different power supply. You should also consider reaching out to Customer Support or initiating an RMA. Best of luck moving forward.

Did you install the HDD while the computer was active? (That sounds reasonable) Does it start up properly? Perhaps the operating system misidentified the correct drive? Updated on January 17, 2025 by leclod

It doesn't start up at all, not a single rotation. The HDD was installed when the device was powered down and disconnected.
