About a month back I chose to replace my Intel i7 14700k because it wasn’t meeting my expectations. I upgraded to a Ryzen 7 9800x3d, changed the motherboard to the ASUS ROG Strix 870E gaming, and installed 2x32GB 6000MT Corsair Vengeance RAM. The rest of the setup includes a 4070 Super, an AIO water cooler, and a 750W power supply. The main problem seems to be with the CPU. I ran Cinebench for multi-core and received a score around 1300 (expected for the 9800x3d should be near 2000), and 3DMark scored 16k in one test—far below the expected 22k. EXPO is coming up, and I’m on the right power configuration; all drivers are current, including the chipset. I’m unsure what’s causing the issue and wanted to see if others with similar parts faced the same problem. Thanks to anyone who can help. EDIT: I missed mentioning the boot time—my system starts in about 42 seconds, compared to roughly 13 seconds with my previous components.

Check if the BIOS is current and MCR is activated. Look for it using the BIOS search tool. If it’s already active or memory isn’t refreshing on every start-up, it’s typical. (Longer post times have been standard since this platform launched in 2022)

Thanks! I'll check it out. I wasn't really focused on boot times, but I thought it might be worth looking into other possible problems.

I haven't performed a fresh Windows installation yet; I've only carried over the existing drive.

It might be due to outdated drivers for components no longer supported by the system. To locate them, you can check manufacturer websites or use driver compatibility tools specific to your hardware and software version.

It doesn't seem to matter if you performed a complete reset. All data is erased.

I believe the problem might have been cleared after your previous reinstall, since you mentioned it wasn’t done during the initial setup.

Certainly. I’d proceed with a complete setup and reinstall.
