Upgrading my motherboard and CPU today turned out to be tricky. Everything seems to work when plugged in, but when I restart or Windows needs an update the system shuts down unexpectedly. The screen vanishes and all USB devices stop functioning. All fans, GPU, RAM, and RGB lighting keep running, but nothing else does. I've tried a BIOS update, cleared CMOS, and reinstalled Windows without success. I'm using a Z690 Tomahawk MB with 13600k, 32 GB DDR4 Corsair RGB RAM, and a 3070.

It seems like the suspect list has been reduced slightly. The computer might not be shutting down completely. To further simplify, adding just one stick of RAM would help.

Attempted using a single stick, changed to another and tried alone too; still experiencing the issue.

I also recently encountered this issue
Same problem again, and now whenever I power it off after it freezes during a restart, it automatically restarts.

I experienced the same problem on a Ryzen 7000 build where my system rejected the RAM, which was set to XMP. I fixed it by switching it to EXPO. Assuming you're using XMP for your Intel setup, it might not be the cause, but it could still relate to the RAM or its timing settings. Have you experimented with toggling XMP on and off?
