Hey everyone, I recently got a new PC assembled in early June. I’ve been experiencing an occasional issue when trying to wake the system from sleep—lights and fan briefly activate for a few seconds before everything goes dark and the whole setup restarts. From the event viewer log (filtered by critical), it looks like error 41, related to kernel power, happens roughly once every few days, about once every 10 wake cycles.

I’m not sure what’s causing it, but my first guess is the power supply unit. Others have mentioned that some motherboard-PSI combinations might struggle with certain power states, like S3. My build includes:
- Intel i7-13700K
- ASUS ROG STRIX Z790-F
- G SKILL TRIDENT Z5 RGB 6000MHz 16GB x 2
- WD BLACK SN850X 2TB
- ASUS 4070TI TUF GAMING
- BE QUIET! DARK ROCK PRO 4 250W COOLER
- SILVERSTONE HELA 850W 80+ PLATINUM PCIe5.0 FULL MODULAR PSU
- ARCTIC P12-120MM FAN

When boosting your RAM speed to 6,000MT/s, consider disabling XMP in the BIOS and check if the system performs better at the JEDEC standard of 4,000MT/s.
My desktop devices never enter sleep or hibernate; I turn them off after use.
