Problem with PC recurring frequently.
Hey, I see you're dealing with a tricky issue. When you play demanding games, your PC often struggles to handle the load, especially if it's running above 80% usage. It usually stops working after just a few seconds, and then the fans kick in but the screen goes black. At first, I thought my graphics card might be failing, so I took it back in for service. They fixed it while I was using an RTX 1080, which worked perfectly. After the repair, the card ran okay for a while, but then it started crashing again—especially during tough games. I reduced the graphics settings to see if that helped, and it did for a short time. I checked temperatures regularly, but everything seemed normal (CPU around 50-60°C, GPU at 65-68°C). The maximum GPU temperature reached about 87°C, so overheating wasn’t the issue. Now I’ve been stuck like this for weeks, and I’m not sure what’s causing it. My system specs are a Ryzen 7 3700X with 4.2GHz, DDR4, and some good cooling hardware. I’m looking for advice or tips to resolve this.
Hi! It sounds like your friend experienced some unusual temperatures with his RTX 3060 Ti, but those numbers seem pretty high for that GPU. The temperatures you shared don’t match what’s typical for him. I also noticed he uses the same CPU as you but runs at higher clock speeds—maybe the RTX 2080S isn’t compatible with overclocking? You might try reducing the clock speeds slightly and see if the crashes persist.
Hello, I changed the power source to the RM650i but the issue remains. It might be the graphics card again—after the repair at the lab they made some changes.
After further investigation, it seems my graphics card is faulty or damaged. I replaced it with an older model I had, a GTX980, which functions smoothly without issues. However, the newer 2080 caused crashes, so I ordered a completely new setup: Ryzen 7 7800X3D B650 Auroboros Elite at 6000MHz, 16x2 CL36 from Gigabyte, paired with an RTX4070.
