Hello everyone, I’m reaching out hoping someone can help explain what’s been bothering me lately. For the past year, I’ve faced recurring problems like minor stuttering, screen tearing, occasional audio distortion, and intermittent Ethernet drops—even though other devices on the network aren’t impacted. These issues have worsened, making video playback, gaming, and general desktop work harder than before.

My troubleshooting attempts so far included:

- Cleaning up drivers with DDU and testing various NVIDIA versions
- Performing multiple Windows 11 installs (clean from scratch)
- Reinstalling Linux as a test
- Disabling hardware acceleration in browsers and media apps
- Turning off Windows Game Mode, HAGS, Fast Startup, etc.
- Adjusting power plans and testing V-Sync
- Running stress tests (FurMark, OCCT, 3DMark) with no crashes or overheating
- Replacing the SSD after noticing low health in CrystalDiskInfo
- Performing latency monitoring
- Using MemTest86 overnight without errors
- Testing with different monitors and cables
- Running stress tests on a new system

Despite these efforts, the problem remains. I’ve also tried hardware swaps—new CPU, motherboard, RAM, PSU, cooler, case—and even replaced the GPU after seeing screen tearing. All drivers and BIOS updates from manufacturers didn’t help.

I’m still working on the fully rebuilt system, but it’s not making things better. I’ve tested everything from software tweaks to complete hardware overhauls, yet the core issue persists.

Environmental and external tests confirmed the problem isn’t limited to my setup. My brother’s PC also stutters under similar conditions, even though he has a different configuration. He brought his whole system—tower, monitor, cables—to my house, and it still had issues.

Some strange observations:
- My TV and girlfriend’s phone show minor stuttering when connected locally.
- Even when her phone isn’t connected, my PC does too.
- Other devices like a monitor and cables don’t help; I’ve checked all connections.
- A USB dongle causes noticeable stutter spikes during sessions, especially in games.
- My keyboard switches profiles or resets randomly, hinting at USB instability.
- I’ve tried different monitors and cables (DisplayPort, HDMI) without success.

I’m open to any advice, no matter how unconventional, and appreciate your time and support. This has been a long and frustrating journey.

Hey there! This forum looks really interesting. It seems like some temporary voltage changes from the wall might be causing the issue—maybe a UPS would help, even if it doesn’t fully solve it. For phones, it’s wild to think about power delivery issues. Are you near any big radio towers or power plants? Also, do you own your router yourself, or is it part of an ISP setup? You might also want to check for power instability or overheating problems.

Thank you for your response. It seems there were no voltage fluctuations detected with the power meter, which might explain why the issue isn’t always present. I understand you’re wondering if the monitor isn’t capturing the changes, but that doesn’t resolve the underlying concern. The problem appears to affect my TV and phones as well. Although I’m not sure if these are linked to my PC, it definitely feels unusual. Living near a power line is a factor, but I’ve been here three years now. My previous ASUS router was replaced with a new one after upgrading my internet speed, yet the issues persisted before that change. I’ve tried almost everything so far, but I’m still unsure what’s causing it.

Is your television connected via the internet as well? It might be a problem with the service provider or there could be some signal interference at your home. I’d contact your Internet service provider to have them check the connection at your house and its source terminal. Do you have any satellite dishes installed near or within your property?

Voltage fluctuations might lead to lasting harm. It’s unclear if this is possible, but it could be. A mile is easily sufficient distance. Even 100 feet seems acceptable. There’s a reason substations are spaced far from the equipment and fences. Have any events occurred recently around that time? It’s possible we won’t be able to identify the source. Your home might just feel like it’s being haunted.

No satellites close by cause this behavior, and your PC does it even without an internet connection, while phones also perform this action.

Recent updates haven't changed much for me, but this issue is making screens tear across several PCs, including his and his other monitors.

This likely points to a faulty phantom power connection. Have you checked if it works with a UPS?

I don’t have that information, but seeing it happen in other homes suggests there might be a problem with your power supply.
