You're starting your PC assembly for the first time. You have an X870i Aorus Pro Ice motherboard, 9950X3D and Viper Venom DDR5 RAM, and a Corsair SF1000 power supply. When you attempt to power on, nothing happens—no fans spinning, no diodes lighting up. Pressing the power button or shorting the PW pins doesn't trigger any action. After pressing the Q Flash Plus button once, the cooler fan starts and the CPU diode lights briefly before turning off after a second. You managed to flash the BIOS successfully, but it keeps failing to turn on. The PSU seems fine, and the BIOS update worked. What could be going wrong?

Did you secure the motherboard inside the case? Make sure it’s positioned correctly and not resting on a non-conductive material. Please share a photo of the motherboard and its connections if you need further advice.

The mobile is comfortably resting on a wooden surface, which seems appropriate for its position

Everything looks fine, I believe you selected the correct pins for the power switch (though not completely certain). I’d like plain cardboard beneath the motherboard instead of your table. Your table seems likely to be non-conductive, but I’m not sure. Updated December 2, 2025 by leclod
