Hello,
While I'm playing (especially Need for Speed Payback), my PC suddenly stops:
- video output
- audio output
- powering peripherals
- pressing the shut down button (long or short)
- pressing the reset button
- no sound from the speaker (it works fine, it just beeps once when I turn on the PC)
It still functions normally if this happens:
- fans are spinning
- RGB lights are lit

It seems like the motherboard isn't working properly. I can fix it by turning off the power supply and then restarting it.

In the past, I bought a sealed Asus 850W PSU, which likely caused these random shutdowns, like a power cut. Could this affect the motherboard? I replaced it with a new Seasonic 850W model.

My specs are:
- Gigabyte B550M DS3H
- Ryzen 9 5900X
- XFX RX 6750XT
- Seasonic G12 850W PSU

I tried running OCCT stability tests but can't reproduce the issue. It only happens when playing NFS Payback, after about 40 minutes to 2 hours of gameplay.

Thank you for your help!

I previously purchased a sealed Asus 850W power supply unit. Could you clarify what you mean by "resealed"? Also, please try using DDU to uninstall all GPU drivers from Intel, Nvidia and AMD, then reinstall the newest GPU driver through an elevated command, such as right-clicking the installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

"Resealed" refers to items returned by another customer that are completely working. I wouldn't rely on their full functionality since many come with significant price reductions.

In my situation, the PC crash occurred because I installed the Ryzen 9 5900X resealed CPU.
I replaced it with another CPU (Ryzen 7 5700G), which I know functions well in my system, and the game ran smoothly.
Additionally, placing the defective 5900X CPU in a working PC caused random lagging until it restarted.
It’s clear who is responsible.
Moral: avoid buying sealed PC parts.
Also worth noting is that the faulty 5900X had a Passmark score of 36000 after light stress (compared to an average of 39000, which seemed questionable).
