Problem with NVME device detection
I just completed my first build and noticed one NVME drive missing from the BIOS. My motherboard is an MSI B650M-A Wi-Fi, and the drive isn’t showing up in a WD green drive I took out of an old laptop. I’ve tried inserting it into both slots on the board, but it remains absent. It functions properly when connected to the old laptop. The drive that works well in my other laptop also works regardless of slot. I really need more experienced advice since I’m confused.
Is this an NVMe storage device or a SATA M.2 unit? If there are two openings on the connector, it’s a SATA drive. An NVMe-only M.2 port won’t function with it. Note - the board only provides PCIe lanes to the CPU and lacks SATA support.
