Problem with new Wi-Fi setup
Problem with new Wi-Fi setup
You just finished your first build with an MSI B850 MagTomahawk on Windows 10. The MSI site doesn’t list a Wi-Fi driver for Windows 10, only a Realtek PCI-E Ethernet driver you installed. Your Wi-Fi issue remains unresolved. You might try running your 50ft Ethernet cable down to the basement as a temporary fix. Let me know if you need more help!
I understand. Get the Bluetooth driver too if you need the Wi-Fi antenna to function as a Bluetooth receiver. https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/MAG-B850...ort#driver
I attempted that, but it's designed for Windows 11. I received an error message when I tried.
You need a Wi-Fi 6 card or adapter to connect. I upgraded to win 11 last week. Since I mainly play games and browse the web, I didn’t mind the change at all. I was quite hesitant because I prefer staying the same, but it turned out to be a smooth process and I’m happy with it. As noted, I only use gaming and web browsing, so there’s no difference for me.
The installation doesn't include Wi-Fi drivers for Windows 10; it's only available in Windows 11.
I connected an Ethernet cable from the basement to the second floor (there was a 50-foot one nearby). I’m having trouble finding drivers for Windows 10—it looks like it doesn’t support Wi-Fi 7. Still, I’m okay with that; better to be hardwired instead. Now I’m online. Let me know if you need help!
