Hello everyone, I'm updating my PC with a new SSD—specifically a Kingston A2000 1TB NVMe. But I'm having trouble installing Windows or even accessing it in the BIOS. Can anyone assist? My system includes an AMD 200GE, Asus B450M-A (latest BIOS), Gigabyte GTX 1060, 6GB G1 Gaming, Kingston A2000 1TB NVMe, Hitachi Ultrastar 1TB HDD, Cooler Master MWE Bronze 450W PSU. I replaced my old HDD and a 60GB SATA SSD with this new drive. I've tried unplugging the HDD, updating BIOS, and reinserting the NVMe, but nothing works. I'm only trying to reinstall Windows 10 Pro, not clone anything. The SSD isn't showing up in the installer, or when it was on the Hitachi it didn't appear as a boot drive. Thanks, Edited July 16, 2020 by Dark_Llama

Use the F6 RAID Preinstall driver and confirm you're running in UEFI mode. https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/pa-260

The M.2 port doesn't support NVMe when using an Athlon processor on your device.

I've encountered similar points before. There are references to bandwidth limitations linked to fewer PCIe lanes, though not always explicit about complete lack of support.

Your SSD might not appear in the BIOS settings, which could impact its functionality.

The processor is compatible with NVMe, but the socket isn't.

Upgrading to a Ryzen CPU might help, depending on your specific needs and system requirements.

Yes, or opt for a SATA drive. It's hard to see a use case for an Athlon that would gain from the added speed.

My Athlon is a placeholder for a planned eventual upgrade to a Ryzen 7. I do lots of 3D, Video and Photo work so want the extra speed. If I upgrade to a Ryzen, will I also need to perform the steps Kisai mentioned above? Thanks for all your help, would have never figured it out!

The software will function correctly out of the box, requiring no BIOS updates. Simply install the driver.
