Good Evening
I just finished a fresh build. I’m not a specialist, but I’ve assembled several PCs without any problems before.
I believed I had completed a new setup on Sunday, but after turning it on, it took about five minutes to update the status. It displayed an error:
"New CPU installed, fTPM/PSP NV corrupted or fTPM/PSP NV structure changed. Press Y to reset fTPM, if you have BitLocker or encryption enabled, the system will not boot without a recovery key. Press N to keep previous fTPM record and continue system boot, fTPM will NOT enable in new CPY, you can swap back to the old CPY to recover TPM related Keys and data."
At that stage, I realized my PC was plugged into a power strip instead of a direct wall outlet. I switched it off and fixed the connection before continuing. Once I turned it back on, it wouldn’t post at all, and a red light appeared on the motherboard indicating a DRAM issue.
Following online suggestions, I attempted various fixes—re-seating the GPU, trying different RAM sticks—but nothing worked. I also tried running the system with just one RAM stick at a time, without success.
The next day, I brought it to a repair shop to check for damage. They found no obvious issues and noted the CPU wasn’t overheating. They recommended contacting someone else who could test the rig with another CPU.
The following shop resolved the problem instantly. They explained they had adjusted the wiring and it was that simple. I took the PC home, installed all my software, and after setting up Windows, the red light disappeared.
Today, I’ve used it all day without any problems. However, it freezes when I watch a movie. I powered it down and turned it back on; now it doesn’t post again, and the red light is back again. The second technician who inspected it attached a speaker to the motherboard, which stopped the single beep during startup.
One thing that might matter is the CPU performance in Cinebench—it scored 16k, but I know people say it usually doubles that. That’s probably not a big concern for me.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Hardware details:
Gigabyte B650 Eagle AX
RTX 4080 Super
AMD 7950x3d
2 Kingston M2 NVMEs
32GB Kingston Fury Beast (two 16GB sticks)
RM1000e
Windows 11 Pro

Did you activate the Y button for installation? That's typical.
