Problem with my PC, no video, can't restart.
My computer shut down after a blue screen. I didn’t have time to check the error code. After trying to restart, the Windows loading indicator kept spinning but remained stuck for a long time. I restarted again, but this time nothing happened—no video, no power to peripherals, except when I pressed a key, then the keyboard turned on and nothing else. All fans, including GPU and processor fans, were running at full speed.
The most important observation is that when I press and hold the power button to turn it off, the PC doesn’t shut down or do anything. Instead, the front panel power LED starts blinking. It looks like a short circuit is preventing the shutdown. I can only turn it off by pulling the cable or using the PSU switch.
Additionally, the power source had been making loud fan noises for several days without any connection to the PC load in terms of CPU or GPU. I’ve tried everything—disassembling the PC, cleaning, remounting, replacing RAM and GPU. The model is a Ryzen 5600 with 2070 Super, 2x8GB 3200MHz HyperX Fury, powered by a 650W PSU (80+ BRONZE).
A proper troubleshooting won't work with a low-quality power supply. Get a good one instead.
Maybe adjusting the power supply could restore everything to normal. I’m hoping only the source was affected.
And I hope so, my friend, that you haven’t experienced any more harm. All the years I’ve worked, 25 plus, most of them cost a lot of money, but I don’t spend extra just to get better power. I trust the rest will be fine and that this will teach you—what you get now will cover your needs and give you something valuable.
I am from Spain and can purchase items from any online store in Spain, as well as from abroad, though shipping costs can be quite high. I also use Amazon. I want the best value, aiming for something affordable yet of good quality. There must be a well-known option that fits this criteria, right? I bought this product five years ago and since then I don’t remember much about PSUs—I’m not sure what to look for now.
