Problem with M.2 PCIe connection
Problem with M.2 PCIe connection
Previously known specifications. MSI Z390 Godlike MB i7-9700k with 32GB RAM (GSKILL Trident Z) Rtx 2080 Ti 2X, Samsung 860 QVO SAS (Raid 0) 2x, Samsung 970 Evo M.2 (Raid 0) 10G TLE PCIe NIC. I'm experiencing an odd problem with the M.2 slot. When I connect the NIC or any other device into the third PCIe slot, the second M.2 fails to recognize it and M.2 Genie reports an error from MSI BIOS. Removing it resolves the issue and allows a proper boot. The graphics card is in the second slot, with nothing in the first or fourth slots. Everything functioned correctly before the second M.2 was installed. My only thought is the processor might lack sufficient lane support, though that usually impacts bandwidth.
Consult the motherboard's documentation for details on shared connections.
Check the motherboard's instructions. It mentions the bottom PCIe port won't be present when you use the second M.2 slot.
