You almost got it right. I checked various forums, spoke with some folks, and one person mentioned a specific approach. Did you try adjusting PBO to advanced mode and then switching to MBO? Please come back with your results. I managed it in about a minute. My CPU temperature is now around 35°C. The solo HW monitor shows idle, while the other one clearly displays this change. This not only prevented my PC from overheating at 70°C but also improved my score from 24k to 26k—though I’m not sure if those numbers are reliable. I don’t need to run the AIO pump at full speed anymore since it’s maintaining acceptable speeds well. The main question is: do you notice anything unusual about the current voltages?

The temperatures aren't shown in the image while Cinebench R23 runs. After completing the test, I received improved scores compared to five minutes earlier. Probably due to background processes affecting the readings.

I just tested Cinebench on my 5950X with PBO enabled and a negative offset in Curve Optimizer. The result matched the score from a cooler PC in a cooler room, capped at 60°C. At 70°C under load, the score remained solid. During summer with ECO mode active, I saw a lower score reaching around 82°C. Overall, performance looks good now. If you're looking to improve temperatures or boost speed, experimenting with PBO's curve optimizer settings could help, though it isn't essential.

Your 5950x monitors its temperature during heavy use, detects throttling, requests more power, and raises boost levels. It keeps pushing higher speeds until temperatures rise too much. Unfortunately, by default it uses a lot of energy. I followed the same approach for my 5800x—great advice and clear explanation. As an ASRock user, the exact settings names might vary, but the concept remains the same. In the worst case, oversimplifying power could cause crashes during benchmarking. If that occurs, simply adjust the offset in BIOS. Cinnebench and HWinfo are useful tools here, offering concrete performance data and temperature insights. Lower power won’t necessarily damage your CPU; it might just cause slight instability, which can be fixed by increasing it again.

As long as you maintain the temperature below 95°C, it will remain content until you decide to replace it.
