Hi, I also got GTA 5 for PC and was trying to install disc 1. I stopped halfway through, put it back in, and it worked again. Then I stopped it completely the next day and tried installing it once more—this time it didn’t show up at all. I put the disc in this morning without canceling, but nothing happened. There’s no GTA V file anywhere, and I’m on Windows 10 with no traces of the game. Please help me reinstall disc 1 so it actually appears and works.

Press the installer button on the disc when autorun isn't working.

Just press the installer button on the disc, and if autorun isn't working, try it again.

there isn't a GTA V game or a folder called GTA V available.

It's not a folder you simply click on—it's actually in. Maybe this could be a better starting point for you.

I located the drive and when I click it it appears as the blue circle and then it removes the tray but doesn't display the GTA logo.

I discovered the drive and when I click it it appears as a blue circle, then it removes the tray but doesn't show the GTA logo edit. OH, it seems my drive functions correctly with a different game, but after removing that game and reinserting GTA, nothing happens.
