Hello, I recently purchased GTA IV (it’s an older version) and it won’t start. When I try to launch it, I see a black screen with no audio, even though the task manager says it’s open. I’ve attached details about my setup. Thanks! sys info.TXT DxDiag.txt
It seems to be a mix-up between Steam and disk versions. The Steam version can sometimes take longer to load initially, but once it does, it usually boots smoothly. If you're experiencing delays, try restarting your PC or checking for updates. Disk issues often require more troubleshooting steps.
Start by downloading xliveless and installing it. Next, make a file named commandline.txt inside the GTA 4 folder and paste the content there. Finally, execute it with administrative privileges.
