Problem with laptop while setting up Windows Update
My old laptop is a Lenovo ideapad 100 running Windows 10, but recently when I shut it down a warning appears saying "Preparing to configure Windows." Please don't turn it off. The issue is it's stuck in the configuring phase. I left it for a long time and eventually had to turn it off. The next day it shows a message about configuring the Windows update, which is 35% complete. Is there anything I can do to help it finish configuring? Thanks.

How full is your hard drive. If there is no room to finish the updates install it will be forever stuck in update mode as it just has nowhere to finish to.
Thanks for the replies. I'm still able to use the laptop but the configuring is still stuck on 35%. There isn't a lot on my hard drive but the laptop is maybe 7 years old. I haven't done a system restore for years but if I did, would this happen again I wonder? I have started to get a message now and again about moving on from windows10 to 11. I'll have to find out if the Lenovo ideapad 100 is compatible. What do you think? Thanks
