I've got a Lenovo laptop with a damaged monitor. When I power it on, only some white areas appear, but connecting my monitor to the laptop doesn't display anything on the external monitor. I'm using a HDMI male to female VGA converter since the laptop only outputs HDMI and I don't have an HDMI port on the monitor. Previously, with the converter, both devices worked together, but now nothing shows up on the external screen. I tried removing the monitor from the laptop, but that didn't help. Any advice?

Usually there’s a shortcut or key to turn on the external display. On many laptops it’s Fn plus F5, though the exact combo can differ depending on the device. You can look up details online or check the user guide for your specific model. Success is assured!

I've already tried, but it doesn't work. I reset the PC and wiped everything, yet the external monitor still won't display anything. The laptop starts up but doesn't appear on the external screen.
