The cd,/dvd burner isn't working on my Lenovo Ideapad 100, so I've purchased an external one. When connected, it makes a connect sound but nothing appears in the taskbar indicating a new device. Burning files to a CDR still fails because the old burner is interfering. Can someone assist? Do I need to adjust settings for the laptop to recognize it?

It's an Origbelie external CD/DVD drive. With Windows 10, it indicates compatibility with versions 10 and 11.

Is this the correct page? Also, have you used it on other computers or laptops?

I've just switched to a different port and it's starting to burn now. Thanks.

I was worried it might be damaged after the postman pushed it through the letterbox and it fell about three feet onto the floor. I expected him to ring the bell and give it to me! It was in a small box, though, and it seems to have held up well on the disc I just burned. Will the drop have affected its lifespan?

I've managed to successfully burn some files onto a CDR using the new external drive I purchased. I'm attempting the same with a DVD-R this time but facing difficulties. I tried changing from CD to DVD, but it shows a file too big error—though it's not excessively large. Previously, I used the laptop's built-in disc drive, which is no longer functional. Could anyone suggest the best method for burning onto a DVD-R? Are there any free online software options available? Have you had success with any of these methods? Thanks.
