There seems to be a better method for switching systems. I located a replacement fan for the laptop—about twenty-one dollars, tax included. I don’t think the cost is excessive given how old the device is; it’s a HP 15-ac115nx. Note: I didn’t alter the thermal paste, but replacing it might extend the life of the new fans.
