Hello, I'm experiencing a recurring problem where my iTunes application freezes completely when I edit metadata or rearrange playlists. The program simply stops functioning, requiring me to close it using Task Manager. Since I frequently curate and edit my playlists, this issue has been happening consistently for about 4-5 months. I believe it might be related to a Windows update or an iTunes update, though I'm not sure. My iTunes version is current, and I've run the built-in diagnostics tool without success. Help needed!

I grasp the idea of rearranging a playlist. And in detail, which metadata elements are you aiming to modify and what is your reason behind it?

I'm trying to identify details like year, artist, etc., but I'm making adjustments since I'm very careful with my playlists and songs. This is to understand why the program crashes.

The aspects that need adjustment are clearly defined. Would altering these details affect the accuracy of the metadata? Yes, modifying year, album, artist, etc., could lead to inconsistencies. Changing this information might also result in incorrect data interpretation. It’s important to consider potential issues with copyright and legal compliance. I wouldn’t anticipate software crashes outright, though it’s possible they could occur. The risk remains uncertain. On a Windows 10 system, you can check Reliability History/Monitor and Event Viewer for any error codes or warnings before iTunes shuts down. Review the entries for further insights; some may provide helpful details about specific errors.
