Hello everyone, I was playing Black Ops 6 this morning when my CPU began getting very hot. I changed the thermal paste after noticing the issue, but it didn’t resolve it. Someone could help me? The screen was showing idle.

What kind of cooler are you using? It seems like a watercooler with a broken pump.

If you hadn't already taken out the heatsink and re-applied the thermal paste, I’d recommend doing that. Since your CPU is hitting around 80 degrees when idle, it’s likely the heat sink isn’t properly seated.

Updated the water cooler last week; it's a new Arctic Cooling Liquid Freezer III 280 A-RGB (White).

Do you have any information about the pump speed? As @ki8aras pointed out, it might be a faulty pump. I experienced the same issue in an EKWB Distro Plate a few years back. The DDC pump failed, and my idle temperatures stayed near 80°C. The system would rapidly slow down under any load afterward.

I changed the AIO position since it was upside down, which caused it to sit improperly. It was resting on the VRM heatsink, just a bit too close for proper contact. I reviewed it based on your note—thanks a lot!
