Problem with installing Windows: Not able to start from the bootable USB drive.
This has been a recurring problem across several systems over the past few years, yet I managed to find a solution before. This time, though, I must resolve it.
I prepared a Windows 11 installation media on a USB drive (two copies included). In the BIOS settings, I adjusted the boot order to prioritize the UEFI thumb drive for a clean install. When attempting to boot from that drive, even by pressing F4 during startup, the system fails to recognize it. The boot priorities are being overridden, preventing any form of booting from either USB installation media.
I also have an AUS TUF GAMING X870-PLUS WIFI. Additional assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Disabled secure boot, disabled fast boot, removed all boot options except for my thumb drives, it still tries to boot into windows (which is now failing).
I have CSM enabled, should I disable that? If one enables it there is an option that says boot from storage devices, then a sub option Boot from Storage Devices: UEFI only or Legacy only. Not sure what to do at this point.
It seems the problem is that Windows starts up on my USB drive, but that specific drive is damaged. Removing all USB devices fixes the issue. I plan to purchase a replacement tomorrow and share the update here.
