You can download the ISO directly from Microsoft and still use Rufus. No major settings adjustments are needed unless you have specific requirements. GPT MBR settings aren’t typically a concern unless you’re working with custom partitions.

Choose the M$ utility to ready the drive or install WOUBUS via Linux sudo with the PPA. Add the PPA, refresh packages, then add and install the package.

If it doesn’t boot from the USB, the disk likely lacks the right boot loader. You can attempt to select just the MBR during Rufus setup. If no UEFI is present, it should function more reliably since it’s designed for BIOS mode.

You're looking to transfer a Windows ISO to a Linux system and use woeUSB to create a bootable USB. You mentioned you're not very comfortable with Linux but are trying. The process automatically created a GPT file, so you're on the right track. Now you just need to set it up as an MBR for booting.

GPT is exclusive to UEFI, which is why your computer can't start from that source.

I completely remembered that GPT applies to UEFI while MBR is used with BIOS. It’s a bit confusing, but I’m grateful for your explanation. Now I want to jot this down so I don’t lose it.
