Problem with I5-9600K overclocking
Your i5-9600K was boosted to 5GHz at 1.3V, then an SSD was installed and the BIOS reset to factory defaults. Now it's behaving poorly at 1.3V and at astable 1.31V, scoring significantly lower in Cinebench R20 (around 80-90 points less). It's also overheating, reaching 83°C and achieving better results at 75°C. The problem likely stems from thermal management or BIOS settings not adapting well to the new configuration.
This behavior is typical, highlighting its limited stability at 1.3v.
The trial ran at 1.3v and it stabilized. I had to lower the room temperature for this. In winter, I usually aim for 2917+
To ensure smooth operation, minor fluctuations can reduce performance before a complete failure. It’s unlikely you’ll complete the Prime95 hour test in one sitting.
Even when you reduce the overclock, Prime95 still generates errors just to halt the workload.
