I own an HP Pavilion gaming laptop Ec-1512AX with 16GB RAM that functioned properly until recently. About a month ago it started crashing often while playing games, experiencing nearly six BSODs each day for two days before it stopped. When I checked the RAM details, it displayed only 8GB installed, even though I had 16GB originally and it was still visible during purchase. I attempted to remove the RAM from its slots, but one slot didn’t recognize any memory at all—while the other two 8GB slots worked correctly. The laptop would boot without any blinking lights on the caps lock but wouldn’t start at all (took about 30 minutes). CPU-Z confirmed 16GB RAM was installed and running in two 64-bit channels. I’m unsure if the RAM isn’t working or if the BIOS isn’t detecting enough memory. The BIOS, Task Manager, and RAM info all show 8GB, but CPU-Z says otherwise. Apologies for the unclear English. Thank You.

The cost of replacing your RAM slot depends on the specific components you need. In India, prices can vary based on brand and availability. Regarding your motherboard, replacing just the RAM slot is generally safe if done correctly. Always ensure you have the right parts and follow proper installation steps.
