After switching from Windows 7 to Windows 10, I could play GTA 5 smoothly. The real issue came after installing the updates—my GTA 5 launcher consumed excessive CPU power, sometimes reaching 35% to 40%. I attempted a clean install and adjusted the launcher’s priority, but the problem persisted. I’ve looked everywhere for a fix but haven’t found a solution yet. Have others experienced similar problems? Do you know if any adjustments helped? My system specs include an Intel i5-2500K, Nvidia GTX 980, 8GB DDR3 RAM, Corsair H80i cooler, a 1TB Seagate HDD, and the PSU CX750M. Monitor resolution is 1920x1080.

However, the game isn't playable anymore. Before I faced no issues with high settings. After the Windows updates, the GTA launcher began consuming more CPU, whereas previously it would only use 5% at most.

Your overall usage before and after the change is as follows. If you haven't completed it yet, please reach out to Rockstar Support—they may request logs or similar details which I'm not familiar with. Otherwise, I can assist you.

In the GTA menu CPU usage ranges from 70% to 100%. The GTA launcher uses about 35%, while the remaining load is handled by the GTA 5 executable.
