Problem with HEVC video extension
Problem with HEVC video extension
I put the HEVC Video Extension from the MS Store in place. Yet it doesn’t function properly. I attempted to reset and reinstall it too. Could anyone explain why? I recorded H.265 videos on Obs for higher quality, but they appear offline in Resolve 18 (free version). People on YouTube mention needing the HEVC extension to play those H.265 files. Windows Media Player also doesn’t support H.265. Please help me resolve this.
Certainly. I can explain what might be happening if Windows Media Player fails to play HEVC files. It could be due to outdated drivers, insufficient system resources, or compatibility issues with newer codecs. Sometimes the issue isn't with the file itself but with the software's ability to handle it. Checking updates for the player and ensuring proper encoding settings can help resolve the problem.
I saved the file in H.265 format for higher quality. However, it appears media is not accessible on Resolve 18 (free version). On YouTube, people mention needing the HEVC Video Extension to play those videos. But that doesn’t seem to work. Windows Media Player also fails to play H.265. My system specs are: CPU 5600x, GPU GTX1660, 32GB RAM, storage type B550 Aorus Pro v2.
These extensions seem specific to Windows Photo App, similar to a Klite codec pack.
You’re capturing gameplay clips in HEVC format within Obsidian and are running the free version of Resolve 18. Have you added the HEVC extension to your system?
I put the HEVC Extension in to play h.265 videos but it doesn’t function properly. I reset it and reinstalled it again, yet nothing works. VLC is fine—it handles any h.265 files well—but without the codec DaVinci Resolve 18 can’t play them. Please help me. My specs: CPU R5 5600x, GPU GTX 1660, 32gb RAM, Aorus B550 pro V2, Windows 10 version 10.0.19045, x64 OS.
