Run the mkfs command with the NTFS file system to format a disk: sudo mkfs -t ntfs /dev/sdb1. Check the file system change using lsblk -f. Find the desired partition and ensure it uses the NFTS file system. Hope this helps.
the video is great, it looks like a drag and drop method I see. i’ve fixed everything about this hdd thanks to your help. regarding the ssd, i get what you explained yesterday, but i don’t need obs on my computer right now—just kdenlive. i’d like advice similar to the example you gave, except using kdenlive. once i have the fix, i’ll start learning that program first so i’m in a better position to understand how much space i’ll need on the ssd and how to partition it with gparted. please let me know.
I need to reinstall my VM with a larger virtual disk, then create a similar video for GParted. It's been a bit late today, so this will be tomorrow. Honestly, given your SSD size, moving /home to nvme0n1p3 might work better since Linux separates user and system files. You should be able to install kdenlive and start using it without too many issues. I expect the file open/save window may not be perfect, but I think I have a workaround. I plan to test it tomorrow as well; if it helps, I'll make another video about it. By the way, I haven't used Cinnamon in a while—it's clean and nice. Would you like to know how to open a terminal to see the details?
