Hi, you set up a Windows 7 machine for a friend yesterday but aren’t able to get the webcam functioning. You’ve installed drivers from the Microsoft site and the CD included, yet nothing works. (Your Windows version is Windows 7 Embedded Standard because I’m a student using free software.)

Regarding the issue, is there any software available from MS besides drivers? Are you experiencing problems during the setup process? The installation appears to be incomplete.

Connect it and see if you can install the software or device. Take it out of the device management and turn it off. Restart the system. Try installing the software again once connected. If the problem persists, check the USB port for functionality.

I used every USB port—after the XP upgrade—I just connected the old Xbox 360 cam and a cheap mic, and it worked!
