Problem with GTA Online connection to the internet Issue with online service in GTA Online
@DarshanDash I asumed you had your IP adres set static because of the preferred prefix. But does it still show the IP address for your computer as 192.168.1.6 ? Only other reason I can think of is that your ISP is blocking the ports because it should work now. You would need to contact your ISP to know that for sure. incase you are wondering here is another tutorial describing the same things I did. This is the tutorial recommended by rockstar: https://portforward.com/innotech/w7100n/
You're asking about what "static" means in the context of GTA Online. It refers to a consistent IP address assigned to your device, as opposed to a public IP that changes with each connection. Regarding the ISP blocking ports, it usually happens because the network settings or firewall rules are set up to restrict certain traffic. Contacting your ISP isn't necessary if you've already explained your situation and they didn’t understand—just make sure your router is correctly configured.
This refers to a fixed IP address assigned by your network. It appears as your internal identifier when using the command prompt's ipconfig tool. You can find setup instructions here: https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/19249/ho...windows-7/. The assigned details would be: IP Address: 192.168.1.6 Subnet: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.1.1 It's worth noting the ISP firewall might be blocking these ports for GTA Online, making any changes ineffective.
If the IP address is accurate, the issue likely lies with your ISP. It might help to check if @Lurick had any insight. Otherwise, reaching out to your ISP would be the best next step.
I followed all instructions from @Levisallanon and @Lurick, but the notification keeps showing the strict NAT type. My ISP mentioned they provided those packages only for business clients. What about a VPN option?
