Problem with graphics driver reinstallation.
Problem with graphics driver reinstallation.
Hello, thank you for your patience. I observed a problem a couple of weeks ago when attempting to play The Culling. I experienced around 62 frames per second due to frame locking, then dropped to roughly 20 fps on The Culling and Payday 2 the following day. Despite keeping the same low settings, nothing changed except for updating the graphics driver to the latest version suggested by GeForce Experience. After some investigation, I performed a clean installation of that driver and restored my performance to 60 fps. The next day required a system restore to reload the boot disk without losing personal files, which happened after accidentally deleting environment variables and needing a driver reinstall. Now, the game is stuck at 20 fps again, and I’m planning another clean install of the graphics driver. Anyone have insight into this issue or suggestions for a solution? Your specs are: Intel i5 2320, 3GHz, 8GB DDR3 RAM, Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit, Nvidia GeForce GTX 660, 2GB GPU.
Consider removing graphics drivers using tools like Guru3D’s uninstaller or the driver sweeper, then attempt a reinstall. Windows 10 may sometimes reset the internal GPU even when disabled. If issues continue, follow the guide to disable automatic updates and reset settings if needed.
